Music and movement Den Haag is an all round musical awareness program that develops basic skills for the integral development of the child; additionally, the program provides the basic skills of the music language.
The program is aimed at children between the ages of 0 and 7 years.
In the first instance our aim is to develop the expressive, musical, technical and intellectual capabilities of the children, along with their mobility. Afterwards the children are encouraged to focus on the sound.
Development of these skills is achieved by playing instruments, body percussion, dancing and singing.
We also teach children the first steps in reading notes and recognizing rhythms and sounds and playing them.
Fine arts (painting, making our own instruments) are sometimes used to complement the music and movement activities. In this way, all the child´s fine and gross motor skills are being used and stimulated.
Playfulness is an essential part of our method because at these ages to having fun is an integral part of being a child and transcends to all aspects of their lives.
The children enjoy these wholistic exercises and the process of making music in a fun group environment, where they are individually valued and respected. This helps each child to develop musical skills and creativity as an integrated part of their education.

Music and Movement Den Haag was created by Natalia Alvarez-Arenas in 2014. Since then, Music and Movement Den Haag don't stop making music and bringing the activity and happiness to a lot of kids and families.
Appart of teaching in the current location, Music and Movement Den Haag has being taking part of the after school curriculum of HSV International School since 2014 and has collaborated in different projects with the following organizations: Duwo House of Music, DAK Kindercentra, Kindergarten, Zein International Child Care, Stichting Vrolijkheid refugees camp, Stichting 2+, Ooievaarspas, Groenegeveld, NJO (Dutch National Orchestra), EPO, British school, among others.
